Women’s Chełmno costume – the women’s costume consisted of a blouse with slightly puffed sleeves, a dark blue jacket for married women or a blue, red or green corset for young ladies, a burgundy, cherry, green, blue, orange or light brown skirt, and apron usually in blue or red. The costume was complemented by a ruff around the neck and a head covering – a decorative bonnet for married women, or a lace bonnet attached to the braid for young ladies. Young ladies also wore wreaths.

Men’s Chełmno costume – a linen shirt, a cloth caftan or a russet coat made of navy blue cloth with gold piping, blue cloth trousers and a head covering – a tall black hat decorated with a peacock feather, a rogatywka cap or a straw hat for young men. The costume was distinguished by a red scarf tied around the neck and a red belt. Boys wore green, blue or burgundy leggins and blue and white striped shorts.
