About us

A folk costume workshop

Since 1992 we have been sewing regional costumes based on ethnographic and museum documentation. We make our own patterns and look after every order from quote to delivery.

Craft

How we sew

Our costumes are sewn by family workshops and craftspeople we have worked with for years: a sewing room in Kashubia, embroiderers from Kuyavia and Kashubia, saddlers and shoemakers. Hand or machine embroidery – your choice. You pick a size from our chart, and we sew to measure when none fits.

Materials

What we use

We sew with Polish wool broadcloth and Andrychów cotton, wool felt and natural leather. Our striped wool fabrics are hand-woven by weavers we have worked with for years. For dance groups, schools and village women’s associations we also make more affordable versions – in durable fabrics that don’t crease and are easy to wash. Ask about them when requesting a quote.

How to order

We take orders by email: from folk groups, schools, women's clubs, institutions, individuals and the Polish diaspora.

  1. Describe your order

    Write to stroje@stroje.pl: region, items, quantity, sizes and your deadline.

  2. Choose a size

    Pick a size from the chart we send by email. We sew to measure when none fits.

  3. Agree price and lead time

    Every order is quoted individually. Public institutions (schools, councils, cultural centres) pay by bank transfer after receiving the costumes. Folk groups, rural women’s associations, societies and private customers pay a 50% deposit.

  4. Receive your costumes

    We ship within Poland and abroad.
