How to order
We take orders from folk groups, schools, rural women’s clubs, individual customers and the Polish diaspora. Made-to-order costumes are ordered by email. Ready-made items are also available in our online shop.
Four steps
Describe your order and ask for a quote
Write to stroje@stroje.pl. Tell us:
- the region or type of costume and the items you need,
- the quantity and who the costumes are for,
- sizes, or ask us for the size chart,
- your deadline,
- when ordering: invoice and delivery details and a phone number for the courier.
Choose a standard size or made to measure
Compare your measurements with the size chart we send by email. If no size fits, we sew to measure – send height, chest and waist. Measure close to the body, without adding ease; our seamstress will add it. For men, measure the waist where the trousers are worn and add the belly measurement at its widest point.
Agree price, lead time and payment
Price and lead time are agreed individually.
- Public institutions (schools, councils, cultural centres) pay by bank transfer after receiving the costumes – we issue an invoice with deferred payment.
- Folk groups, rural women’s associations, societies, companies and private customers pay a 50% deposit; the rest on collection or by bank transfer before shipping.
Costumes made to measure cannot be returned.
Receive your order
We ship within Poland and abroad; international shipping is quoted individually.

Can I order a single item or add items to an earlier order?
Yes. We accept orders for single items and you can add items to costumes ordered earlier. When adding to an order, describe the previous order and the items you need.
How much does a folk costume cost?
Every order is quoted individually. Tell us which costume or items you would like, how many, who they are for and when you need them.
How long does sewing take?
From a few weeks to a few months, depending on the order. For example, a few petticoats take about 2–3 weeks, Łowicz costumes several months. We confirm the lead time when agreeing the details.
What if a costume needs adjusting?
Contact us. Alterations for fit are included in the price.
Do you ship abroad and serve the Polish diaspora?
Yes. International shipping is quoted individually. We speak English, and French by phone.
How should I care for the costumes?
Follow the care suitable for the most delicate fabric, embroidery or decoration in the item. See our guide: Caring for folk costumes.
Can I return a costume made to measure?
No. Items made to measure or to individual specifications are excluded from the right of withdrawal without giving a reason. This does not affect your right to make a complaint, and alterations needed for a good fit are included in the price.
